30 day challenge to change your life

If you feel like you’ve been stuck in a rut and need a push to kickstart your transformation, start a 30-day challenge to change your life! Because starting a challenge helps you push yourself and accomplish something (even if it’s a small habit) everyday.

I mean, imagine winning at something every single day! That’s what your 30 day challenge will help you accomplish.

I find them to be the best way to get back on track, every time I feel bleh. Whether I start a fitness or meditation challenge. Because it motivates me to be consistent every day, and by the end of 30 days, I’m back in my routine.

Which is why I have this huge list of 30-day challenges, from 30 day health challenge ideas to productivity and money challenge ideas, that you can try throughout the year!

Why do 30 day challenges work?

1) Getting started is the hardest part in your transformation journey and starting a challenge gives you that adrenaline rush that helps you gain that initial momentum.

2) They’re not overwhelming & seem feasible. 30 days is the perfect time to create a habit, or even just experiment if something works for you or not. Just make sure that you’re not starting 10 different challenges at once.

3) And the best part why do 30 day challenges work is that they create a domino effect. For ex, if you’re consistent with your workout challenge, you’d eventually feel motivated to also have a proper diet.

The internet is filled with workout challenges and people love doing them. Because workouts give you an instant dopamine hit, making you feel accomplished.

But if you’re someone like me who hates working out, these 30 day challenges are perfect to start a habit. And doing them consistently will motivate you to push yourself everyday. I tried the Blogilates hot girl summer challenge last summer and loved it.

2. walk 10k steps

Nothing a good 40-minute walk can’t fix! Feeling stressed? overwhelmed? Go on a walk. Need some movement? Go on a walk. This is your hot girl walk era!

They’re literally so comfy!

Start a 10k steps everyday challenge. Begin with 2k or 3k steps and gradually increase. You can also use a smartwatch to track your steps.

3. 1 Gallon water

This is something we all can start paying more attention to. Drink at least 1 gallon water everyday. If you really want to ace this challenge, get yourself a 1 gallon water bottle to keep track.

And, as I mentioned in a previous post, after the first few days, you don’t have to force yourself to drink a gallon of water because you’re thirsty all the time (or maybe finally start paying attention to it).

4. Sleep for at least 8 hrs

I recently listened to a podcast by Guy Raz where he told that 70% of our focus would improve if we just started having proper a 8 hours sleep. That’s how much your sleep cycles affects your health. Take this 30-day challenge to change your life if your sleep cycle needs a reset.

5. Skincare routine

I saw a girl on tiktok doing natural face masks every day for 14 days and ofc, her skin was glowing by the end of it. You can try that, or you can simply start a skincare routine and stick with it. Here are some of the most popular products.

1. Start a morning routine

If you’re stuck in a rut and have no sense of routine, a 30-day morning routine will be a game changer for you! Even if your morning routine looks like listening to a podcast while doing breathing exercise (as mine did for 8 months!)

Or simply sipping coffee on your porche.

Your mornings really determine how your days going to go. Starting each day by completing a challenge will significantly boost your confidence too.

You can divide the morning routine challenge into smaller challenges like –

  • No Snooze Challenge – Wake up without snoozing your alarm 4 times!
  • Make The Bed Challenge – Make your bed first thing in the morning.
  • No Phone Mornings Challenge – You can’t use your phone for till 9 a.m. This is literally the most impactful one!

2. rejection challenge

This is the best 30-day challenge to change your life. I saw a ted talk by Jia Jiang where he did a 100 days of rejection challenge. Basically, he did something everyday to seek rejection, like asking for a “burger refill” at a restaurant.

If you aren’t able to ask people for help, propose your crush, or miss out on opportunities because you have a fear of rejection, you need to try this challenge.

3. Write It Down Challenge

Journaling isn’t always a “dear diary” thing. Here are some unique journaling challenges you can try,

1) Classic Journaling – Write down about everything that’s on your mind. This is the best way to pause and process your feelings (something we rarely do). Trust me, this challenge will help you end your days on a much more relaxed note. And ofc, having a cute journal can help in motivating you to write something daily.

2) Gratitude JournalingOne of my favorite 30 day challenges, that would only take 5 minutes. Every day, write down 3 things you’re grateful for. If you do it consistently, you’ll end up having a more positive outlook on life than most people.

3) Start A Bullet Journal – If writing is not your thing, pick up a bujo as your creative outlet. You can be as creative as you want and create pages that help you stay sane. Here’s how to start a bullet journal for beginners.

4) One Achievement Everyday – Start this 30-day challenge to change your life if you’re stuck in a rut and are being a little too hard on yourself for not being productive. Because your mindset also determines your productivity.

Basically, at the end of the day, write down everything you got done/something you accomplished.

4. read 10 pages

And get yourself a physical book, if possible. You can read a non fiction and learn something new about life. Or opt a fictional book, and shut the outside world and enjoy some relaxing me time.

Here’s a list of 10 must read personal growth books in your 20s.

current reads I’m loving . .

This book feels like a warm hug!

A great murder mystery!

5. cold showers

I did this challenge in January! And, aside from all the physical health benefits you’ve heard, I can confidently state that cold showers are extremely beneficial to mental health.

Because every time you try to take a cold shower, a small voice inside your head will convince you not to. Who would know if you skip a day?

This is the same voice that always holds you back. And shutting it down every morning would train you to step outside of your comfort zone  . . a little each day.

6. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone Challenge

Every day, do something that takes you out of your comfort zone. It will significantly boost your confidence because by the end of 30 days, you will feel like nothing is out of your reach!

If you don’t want to go through the trouble of choosing a new challenge each day, get the 21 days to abundance workbook. Inside this is a list of 30+ challenges (a good mix of fun and really tough ones).

30 day productivity challenge to change your life ideas

1. Time block everyday

If you don’t know where your days are going and are feeling overwhelmed with work, time blocking can save your a.s.s. It gives you a clear idea of what you need to be doing at any given time of day.

And even if you don’t finish something in time, you know what tasks are in the backlog.

Every Monday, I time block my entire week, so I know exactly what each day is going to look like. It really helps me get things done without indulging in confusion. I go over the exact method inside Take Your Weekends Back Course.

2. top 3s

If time blocking every single minute of the day is too restricting for you, then try writing down your top 3 priorities everyday. Basically, 3 non negotiable tasks that need to get done before you go to bed. So that you don’t let your days go by aimlessly, just putting out fires, and use your time wisely.

3. No Work After 6 Challenge

Ever noticed how the week before the trip is the most productive one? That’s because you have a strict deadline and try to complete as much as possible before leaving. But when you have the freedom of taking your laptops to bed, you often end up writing that 15 minute email in one hour. (Been there!)

Deadlines are a great way to boost your productivity. One way to include them them into your daily life is to set a time limit, say 6 p.m., after which you leave work.

4. schedule time to do nothing

In a world where we can’t get through a 5 minute waiting line without scrolling through Instagram, scheduling time to do nothing seems bizarre. But this could be your 30-day challenge to change your life.

Schedule time in your days where you sit down with your journal and a ‘no phone, no people to talk to, no “work”, basically no distractions’ policy. When you keep all the “busy” work away, your mind is then able to focus on the things that actually matter to you.

Pay close attention to thoughts – the things that are bothering you, the ideas that you receive, the goals that you actually want to achieve. After every session, you’re going to have so much clarity on what you want to do with your time.

5. 15 min cleaning

I don’t know about you, but I tend to function better when I’m in a clean space. But taking time out to clean everyday can be difficult sometimes.

That’s why I love this 15 minute cleaning hack. Everyday, set a timer for 15 minutes and pick a small area of your house to clean. Maybe start with your work desk, or bathroom drawers. And sometimes, when you’re in the flow, you’d end up cleaning for more than 15 minutes.

It’s a win-win!

6. less screen time

We all need this 30 day productivity challenge ideas, lol! You can either set a specific screen time that you want to stick to or gradually decrease your time. Use apps like freedom that’ll lock your phone for a certain period of time, so you can not use it even if you’re tempted to.

You can also start having focus hours, i.e., keep your phone in another room for 1-2 hours and only focus on the task at hand.

7. self care challenge

How can you be productive if you’re not taking time to unwind and relax? To save you from all the trouble, here’s a self care challenge that allows you to do 2 self care activities every single day.

Self care challenge is a fun way to bring your focus back on your health while also improving productivity.

30 day money challenge ideas

1. Save 10$ everyday

Start a simple savings challenge. If you save $10 everyday, it doesn’t seem like a huge amount. And by the end of the month you’d have an extra $300 in your bank. Who wouldn’t want that?

Now, if you continue doing it for the whole year, voila, that’s more than $3500!

2. weekly money dates

I learned this concept from the book “Money a love story(Must read for anyone trying to up their money game). Basically every week have a date with yourself and check your finances.

Make it a whole thing, get dressed, order your fav pasta, maybe a lil wine and get started. The main purpose of these dates is to improve your experience around the topic of money and expenses, which most people find stressful otherwise.

3. Learn about investing

They say that wealth is created when your money starts making money. I’ve been wanting to start an investment course/ book for a long time (like the Common Sense Of Investing), but haven’t had the time.

I think this 30 day challenge is the perfect excuse to finally set aside some time everyday and start learning about investing.

4. start that side project

We all have that one business idea that we want to pursue! But are never able to work on because of our hectic schedules.

Set aside an hour each day for the next 30 days to work on that idea. Of course, you won’t have a fully operational business in 30 days, but you’ll be a lot closer to realizing your dream. In fact, starting an online side hustle can potentially make you passive income.

30 day challenge for couples to change your life

1. weekly dates

The secret to happy long lasting marriage is to never stop dating. Which ideally means still putting in the same amount of effort in the relationship, and intentionally spending time with your partner.

For this 30 day challenge for couples, you should plan weekly dates for the next month. Now, your dates don’t always have to be fancy; it could be as simple as cooking together, but the intention is important.

After 30 days, perhaps you can do them biweekly, taking turns planning it for your partner.

2. family Meeting every sunday

I learned from Jess and Gabriel. Basically, every week, you sit down with your partner and plan your week. You discuss how your last week went, what are your goals for this week, haw can you improve etc.

It may look a little formal to do this with your partner. But these meets ensure that both of you are on the same page, nobody gets caught off guard, and you’re tackling life as a team.

3. find Your “Thing” Challenge

When you both have busy schedules, it can be easy to prioritize work over family. It’s important in those times, to intentionally schedule time that’s just for the two of you.

The simplest way to accomplish this is to indulge in one daily activity together. Maybe you enjoy going on walks together or always having dinner together. Use this 30 day challenge to choose a daily activity that’s “your thing”.

4. gratitude together

Studies have shown that practicing gratitude with your partner is a great way to strengthen your relationship. Take this 30 day challenge for couples to sit down with your partner and discuss 3 things you’re grateful for everyday.

You can also try this couples gratitude journal, if you want to really gain the benefits of practicing gratitude together.

This whole list of 30 day challenge to change your life has inspired me to start a few 30 day challenges myself!
