16 Spring Cleaning Hacks To Get Your Entire Life Organized

Spring is the season for deep cleaning your home (and your life!) to get ready for summers. However, spring cleaning to get your life organized is not an easy task.

Specially when your mind is a bigger mess than your home. To make this process easier for you, here are 16 spring cleaning and organizing hacks.

Getting your life in order can feel a lot like putting out fires. (This is how most people handle it.) Instead of having a set organizing routine, they simply ignore the problem until it hangs over their heads.

Like, keeping that box full of extra clothes in some corner of your storage room, or putting off paying your bills until the last minute. I mean, when was the last time you cleaned out your inbox?

That’s right, NEVER!

But don’t worry, NOW is a good time to start! This isn’t just a list of spring house cleaning tips; this is a list of hacks that will get your entire life organized before summer (actually, faster!)

16 Spring Cleaning Hacks For Life

Here you go,

Basics

1. Write Everything Down & Don’t Rely On Memory (MUST!!!).

This is the simplest change to make and will have the greatest overall impact. Today, we consume a lot, and I mean A LOT, of data online. We’re constantly distracted by the new tiktok trend.

So, it’s obvious that our brains won’t remember everything.

Hence, I started carrying a small notebook with me at all times. So, whenever my brain sends me a notification that I can’t handle right away, I write it down instead.

This way a) my brain doesn’t get cluttered b) I don’t forget anything because I can always refer back to the list.

You can also use your phone’s notes app for this.

2. Clean Your Space

It won’t be a spring cleaning checklist if we didn’t mention house cleaning at least once. If your entire house is a shambles, make a list of everything you want to do and then start with something small and significant.

Maybe, clean your office space and your kitchen. I feel like people spend most of their time in these 2 areas and cleaning them up can bring you a sense of calm.

3. Put Everything Away As You Go

My mom’s favorite hack to keeping things organized! When you’re finished using something, keep it back to where it belongs. For ex, keeping your shoes in the shoe rack once you enter the house.

Soo simple!

Also, don’t leave tasks for the future. For ex, Try to wash the dishes right away after dinner.

4. Everything Should Have A Home

Make a place for everything in your house. The things that create the most clutter are usually the things that don’t have any set space for them.

For examples, you can always find your earphones and chargers lying around in every corner of the house. Because they don’t have a set space. You can use this instead.

And of course, you can always get your hands on storage units. Here are some of my favorites.

5. Clean your mails

Open your emails and unsubscribe from every person/brand whose emails you rarely open. I’m pretty sure you won’t even recognize half of the names (happens to me everytime.)

Subscribe only to people you believe will add value to your life.

6. Take backups of phone and laptop data

I swear if my phone gives me another storage warning, I’m done! Your phones and your latpops are the most cluttered space, isn’t it?

Simply copy all of the media from your phone and laptop to the drive and delete it from your devices. You can return to clean the drive later.

7. Use a Digital organization tool

Digital organization tools, like notion or trello, can be a life changer. I’m a big paper planner enthusiast but I still love notion. You can basically organize and track your entire life in there. Here’s a screenshot.

You can go through the notion tutorials on YouTube to get started. Trello is a good option too.

8. Record your passwords

Take a notebook and jot down all of your passwords. Or do it in your notes app. Whatever works for you. I know your browser has all of your passwords saved, but you should still keep a record of them just in case.

Routines

9. Have a Cleaning Routine

Deep cleaning your life is nice and all – but it’s SOO much work. But if you have proper systems in place, you can avoid this mess. Create a weekly/ monthly cleaning routine for yourself.

Also, start creating habits that help you stay organized. Like cleaning your office before you leave for the day.

10. Set Clear Goals & Action Plans

Setting clear goals and creating an action plan will make your life so much easier. It makes you less confused – so you stop chasing goals you don’t want, become more productive and confident as you start seeing the results.

You can use the ‘Design your Life’ 2022 Planner‘s goal setting templates to get clear on your goals. This planner is meant to help you get your sh*t together in the simplest possible way.

11. Plan and manage your money

Start managing your money smartly. You don’t have to start using those flashy excel sheets (I don’t understand them either). Start with something simple, like tracking your monthly income and expenses.

12. Brain dump everything

Sometimes we feel disorganized because we spend more time thinking and less time doing. When you feel like your mind is a jumble, do a brain dump. In simple words, write everything down on paper.

It allows you to clear your head. If you are concerned about something, you will realize that your concerns are irrational. If you have a lot to do, it will allow you to complete each task one at a time.

13. Delegate

You don’t have to do everything by yourself. Ask for a family member or friend to help you out. You can also hire someone professional to get things done.

Healthy habits

14. Morning & Evening Routine

The ONLY way to keep your life running smoothly is to create effective systems. So even when you have a bad day, things work out. Create a morning that allows you to be productive and an evening routine that allows you to wind down.

Make things as easy for yourself as possible! That’s the key.

15. Meal Prep

This is yet another clever way to fuel your body without devoting a lot of time. Create a weekly meal plan, make a list of all the groceries you’ll need, and prepare everything on Sunday.

16. Get Some Rest

The most under-rated tip to stay productive is TAKING BREAKS. In today’s world, where everyone is on the go-go-go, it’s important to find time to sit back and relax. One way to do this is to start having self-care Sundays. And do more things that you enjoy each day.
