10 Life Changing Daily Habits to Start Today

You are what you repeatedly do. That’s why it is important to build healthy habits in your daily routine. It’s hard to believe that something as simple as daily habits can drastically improve your lives. But don’t underestimate the power of repeating small actions daily. Consistent efforts can amount to significant changes.

If you have been living on autopilot till now, it’s okay. Everyday is a new chance.

Start noticing your daily habits right away. And replace the bad ones with the healthy alternatives mentioned below. Here is a list of 10 simple daily habits that you can implement in your life today to witness some life changing results. Start being more intentional in your life.

1. Focus On What You Want In Life

Set some goals, whether they are for fitness, studies, careers, or starting a new business. Be very specific about what it is that you want. You can’t expect to achieve your goals if you don’t even know what they are.

A study conducted with Harvard MBA graduates in the 1970s found that only 3% of their students wrote down their goals. Ten years later, it was discovered that those 3% of students were ten times more successful than the other 97 % combined.

If you haven’t set any goals for yourself, don’t worry. Most people are unaware of what they want to do with their lives. Use this goal setting technique to create clear and concise goals. You’ll notice that setting goals makes it easier to begin working toward them.

2. Challenge Yourself

The simplest way to start growing in life is to start challenging yourself. Get out of your comfort zone and do things you won’t normally do. It could be as simple as taking a different route to work, trying new cuisine, or taking cold shower.

Small steps outside of your comfort zone have a domino effect. This allows you to take bigger actions with ease, like starting a new business, asking your crush out, or moving to a new city.

If nothing, just start ‘saying yes‘ more often. And have new experiences.

3. Learn Everyday

Don’t think of learning as something that stops once you finish school. If you want to keep growing, you must keep learning. Many people suggest reading books daily, but I won’t do that. You don’t have to read 10 pages everyday or listen to three hours of podcast if you don’t want to. However, you have to find something to learn from everyday.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe that investing in books, podcasts, seminars, and coaching is the best investment you can make. But if you’re just getting started, giving yourself some freedom will make learning more exciting. Make things easy for yourself.

Find something to learn every day, whether it’s a book, a podcast episode, a course, or a random fact.

4. Create Visual Cues

Create visual cues to help you do more of what you want to do. For example, keeping your gym clothes out if you want to exercise more. Or if you want to journal in the morning, keep your journal on your nightstand.

This is where vision boards come in handy. Creating visual cues saves time and serves as a reminder.

5. Practice Positive Self Talk

Your self talk can either make you more confident or doubt your self worth. Both of which impact your actions and decisions. When you believe you aren’t worthy of success, you automatically refrain from taking actions that will help you achieve success.

The one thing that distinguishes successful people from the crowd is their self confidence and sense of self worth. So, start talking positively to yourself. Celebrate your wins. Appreciate your hard work.

The most important conversations you’ll ever have are the ones you’ll have with yourself.

You can try this simple exercise; look in the mirror and compliment yourself. This may seem strange at first, but it will have a significant impact on your mindset.

6. Build Daily Self Care Habits

It’s important to take care of yourself; mentally and physically.

Move your body everyday; go for a run, walk your dog, practice yoga. Drink lots of water. Use this water tracking app to track your water intake and sends reminders. Eat healthy diet and try meal planning to save some time.

Also, practice meditation. I use this free meditation app; it has lots of beginner friendly meditation courses. Mental self care also includes giving your mind some time to relax. If you don’t have the energy to deal with something, take a break. And come back when you feel ready. This will produce better results.

7. Learn to Prioritize

Don’t be that person who works all day but seems to accomplish nothing. This is common in people who waste their time focusing on insignificant things. Understand the difference between being busy and being productive.

Prioritize 3 most important tasks on your to-do list everyday. While doing so, keep your long-term goals in mind. For example, if you want to be fit, spending days researching the perfect workout routine or diet won’t help. Do things that will actually help you achieve your goals, like going to the gym and choosing healthy alternatives.

8. Daily Habits To Practice Gratitude

What you focus on, amplifies. Focus on the good and more good will come to you. No matter how hard your life is right now, I’m sure there’s something that you can still be grateful for. Sometimes it’s harder to look for it.

Practice gratitude journaling; write down five things that you’re grateful for everyday. This shifts your focus to the positive and allows you to appreciate the little things in life.

9. Take Regular Breaks

Regular breaks allow you to recharge and work more efficiently. Set a cut off time in your day, after which you can’t work. Sundays should be rest days. You will not be able to give your best effort if you are overwhelmed with work.

Set aside ten minutes each day to do nothing but sit with your thoughts. Notice how uneasy you feel. We consume a lot during the day without giving our brains enough time to process it all. This helps you to pay close attention to your thoughts.

10. Daily Visualization Habits

Visualize your goals and dream life. It helps you see what your dream life would look, feel and smell like. Close your eyes and start imagining your dream life. Get specific about what you’re wearing, how you’re speaking, and where you live. Most importantly, focus how you’re feeling.

Doing this everyday will allows your subconscious mind to get accustomed to the life you desire. And through law of attraction you start manifesting this into your reality.

And, even if you don’t get this jargon, visualizing your dream life everyday will give you the boost and motivation you need to start working on your goals.
