Focusing on your health when you literally have no time is hard. And I’d be the first one to say that people who say “If your health is important, you’ll make time for it”, are mistaken!

I swear if I saw another Instagram post about quick health tips that included a 30 minute meditation, I’d loose it!

If you’re in the same boat as me – having a full office calendar, a side hustle, and personal commitments- and want to start working on your health with the time you’ve got, this list of 10 healthy habits to follow everyday is for you.

Now, it’s ok if you can’t spend hours on your fitness like most people, but you must be consistent if you want to see results.

And the easiest way to stay consistent is to start having fun with these habits. Don’t make this another task on your to-do list, but something you look forward to each day. And don’t start all 10 habits at once!

Here are 10 healthy habits to follow everyday if you literally have no time, categorized in 3 categories for your ease.

1. Wake up without a phone

When you use your phone as your alarm clock, the first thing you do after dismissing the alarm is scroll through Instagram or check mails.

This makes you start your day in reactive mode, i.e. on other people’s terms, instead of being proactive. Follow this habits to do in the morning – make the first hour of the day phone-free. Your messages and mails can easily wait an hour!

And if you’re someone who wakes up 15 minutes before heading out, do yourself a favor and start waking at least 15 minutes earlier. You have no idea how much better your days will become if you invest 15 minutes in yourself.

I included this separately because I’m obsessed with going on walks lately. They’re not just good for your physical health but also for your mental health.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed at work, put on your earphones and go for a 10 minute walk. I swear, it clears your mind and makes you feel more refreshed.

Don’t use work as an excuse to avoid daily movement! I’m sure you’re not working 20 hrs a day. Start replacing your social media breaks with these habits to stay healthy and I think you’ll fine.

7. Find An escape everyday

You can’t be looking at your screens all day long, that’s just not something humans are made for. So, find something you enjoy doing outside of work and schedule time for it as your habits to improve mental health.

Most of us find that escape from binging Netflix, and drinking wine. And that’s okay too. Take some time and see if painting, or calling a friend, or singing at the top of your voice is something you wanna do today.

Sometimes, it’s all about being more intentional with your actions.

Making gratitude list is my favorite of the 10 healthy habits to follow everyday. They hardly take 5 minutes of your time and leave you feeling upbeat for the rest of the day.

9. read

I truly believe that once you find a good self-help book, there is no turning back! You can start using your morning time (see #1 and 2) for habits to improve mental health like reading and learning some life lessons.

Because you’re always on the go, you’re constantly consuming information from all directions. This is what usually causes overthinking, confusion and overwhelm.

Our brain usually makes things bigger and more complicated than they actually are.
